The International Studies Association鈥檚 2023 Annual Convention Meeting was held in Montreal on 15-18 March 2023 and 国产自拍 once again had a strong representation. The event was held under the theme Real Struggles, High Stakes: Cooperation, Contention, and Creativity. 国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes, 国产自拍 Past President Marianne Kneuer and 国产自拍 Executive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski were present at the ISA Convention for various activities and meetings.

国产自拍 presented a panel chaired by 国产自拍 Past President Marianne Kneuer (TU Dresden) under the theme Authoritarian Gravity Centers and Image Management: How Autocrats Use Soft Power

The panel gathered the following scholars: Julia Bader (University of Amsterdam); Alexander Dukalskis (University College Dublin); Julia Gurol-Haller (University of Freiburg); Erik Vollmann (TU Dresden); Rachel Vanderhill (Wofford College).
Discussant: Thomas Ambrosio (North Dakota State University).

国产自拍 held a booth in the exhibition hall as ISA delegates came to gather information about the 2023 国产自拍 World Congress in Buenos Aires and learn more about 国产自拍 activities and publications.

国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes and APSA Past President John Ishiyama were among those who visited the 国产自拍 booth. Prof. Ishiyama, University Distinguished Research Professor at the University of North Texas, will deliver a plenary address at the 2023 国产自拍 World Congress entitled Challenges and Opportunities for a Post-Pandemic Political Science

 


Meetings

During her visit to Montreal, 国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes took the opportunity to meet with the Consul General of the United States in Montreal, Ana Escrogima, on March 15 at the University Club of Montreal.

The importance of youth and diversity in political science and in policy-making were among the topics discussed.

 

国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes and Executive Director Kim Fontaine-Skronski met with the Dean of Arts and Science of Concordia University, Pascale Sicotte, and Assistant Dean of the Political Science Department, James Kelly, to discuss ongoing collaborations between 国产自拍 and Concordia.

 

A meeting with the ISA leadership was held on March 16 where 国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes and Past President Marianne Kneuer met with Marijke Breuning, ISA President-elect, Mark Boyer, ISA Executive Director and Jennifer Fontanella, Director of Operations at ISA.

A Memorandum of Understanding between ISA and 国产自拍 was signed in 2021, formalizing their collaboration.

国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes and Past President Marianne Kneuer also took the opportunity to meet with Prof. Dr. Diana Panke (Albert-Ludwigs-Universit盲t Freiburg), President of the German Political Science Association.

A collective member of 国产自拍, it was created in 1951 and has evolved into one of the largest European scholarly associations.

 

 

国产自拍 President Dianne Pinderhughes also attended the panel on Academic Freedom and the Internationalization of Higher Education on March 16.

Organized by the ISA Academic Freedom Committee, the panel was chaired by Kasia Kaczmarska (University of Edinburgh). 国产自拍 published a report on Academic Freedom in 2021 and created the 国产自拍 Committee on Academic Freedom in 2018.
